The 518 provides excellent and quick target acquisition with its large, anti-reflection window and thin surrounding metal frame. Like all EOTech sights, the reticle is parallax-free, meaning that it points where the barrel does, even if your eye isn't right behind it. Lots seem to complain that EOTech reticles look "fuzzy", but that's usually for one or two reasons: 1. The brightness is set too high for your current environment, which causes the reticle to "bleed" light around the edges. 2. You need to see an optometrist. The hologram technology causes those with sub-par vision to see a fuzzy sight. Any issues?** A: I haven't shot with this optic in the rain/snow. However I would trust this optic in combat. I don't believe this model has any issues with the 0 shifting. **Q: is this the 2017 model. it is the 518 right?** A: I'm not sure it's AA battery not the 123 battery I know that for the money I say it's a good buy pretty sturdy in my opinion I would suggest just running non-magnified **Q: How's the battery life?
