Rear guard installed with no problem, there is sway to it with everything tightened, but not much and doubt it would impact its performance. However the front piece did not fit my fork. I have a mountain bike with a Rockshox Reba fork which apparently has a 33.5mm inner diameter and this kit mounts to up to 27.5mm. For the price, it is a very good buy, and frankly, I could take a measurement before buying but after I read that it is 'Suitable for ... mountain bikes' I sort of threw caution to the wind and ordered. Just a warning to those bike owners who have a non cheap mountain bike: your fork will probably be built durable(aka thicker) and front one won't fit.UPDATE: after literally two rides, the rear guard attachment (black stalk made out of very cheap plastic) cracked because I brushed my foot over the far end of the guard as I swung it to mounting up on the bike. It was not a forceful kick, just a tangential brush off which deflected the guard to the side. The guard was flexy and returned back but the black plastic stalk which was thinned out with some cutouts and felt a lot less compliant, simply snapped 1/2 way across. It would then cause the guard to randomly swing around and hit the tire knobs making sounds and everything. Really not a lot of money spent to learn this lesson.
