when you make a hole and pass cables through it you take this and pass the firestop around the cables to cover the hole and it seals between the cables and hole. I work in the IT department at a hospital and we have to either do this or cut a pipe to pass the wires through a wall and this is much quicker and easier.

Great quality firestop pads

Great quality fire stop puddy. Makes sealing around wire penetrations on boxes a cinch! Just in case anybody is wondering like I was, there’s 32 circle pads in a box. Expensive but good quality. If I had more time I would just cut my own circles like this but time is a commodity in this trade!
