What am I missing?** A: At anywhere from $6 to $10 for 100 zip ties, there isn't much difference on the price. The big plus, for me, is that they are reusable. In my case, I have a fig tree that I anchor down with these when the wind picks up. I can very easily place and remove at will. **Q: country or origin?** A: USA **Q: Do the clips actually grip onto string or garden twine so that the clip won't simply slide down the string once in place?** A: The clips will grip a thinner twine. I use nylon twine and have had good success. I also string twine horizontally every 12 inches of tomato height for a backup intersection of twine and plant to clip. If any of my vertical lines failed or my knots slipped, I would have other lines to support the plant (until I notice and string a new vertical line). If you are stringing vertical lines, you have to build a support frame anyway. Love the system and took for granted the ultra high quality and ease of 1 handed use not to mention easy fast 1 handed relocation. Only disapointmentwas I ran out and saw backorder around June 29 - was leaving for Florida and needed to finish the 10 x 25 gallon pots with 24 x 6 foot to 10 foot tall NJ Heirloom Tomato "TREES". Had to order a different brand complete garbage - poor string grip teeth, faulty molds, bad locks, broken hinges and out of round - complete OVAL that strangled larger stem plants causing me to have to take these good rings and move them to thick critical spots and crappy ones to new growth hoping they dont fall apart when moved..EXCELLENT PRODUCT FANTASTIC Quality Control - Hopefully these are back in stock ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I find them fast and easy to use *by D***I on May 2, 2016* These are very neat! I find them fast and easy to use. Training cherry tomatoes that tend to grow and grow and grow out of control fast. We strung a tomato garden twine from a stake in the ground to the top of our back porch trellis and back over to the ground again so that there were actually 2 lines to attach to. You could use anything else to tie the top of the line to. Example: ground to an eye hook attached to the back of your house, etc. Then use these clips to anchor the tomato vine to it. They clip on and off easily so they can be moved. I add clips or move them as needed. Much faster than tying and moved just as quickly. This would also be good for regular tomato vines that you are training into a single vine or even a 2-leader vine. Just be sure to use the proper twine. The quality of the clips seems to be very good and they are large and sturdy enough to use with the 50-plus heirloom varieties I'm growing this year using Hortonova 79" netting, or stringing them with tomato twine. The clips work well with both methods and are easy to reposition.
