Can this be used over the current seal?** A: Its tung oil that works great for a wood counter top but i would not use it for a butcher block. Their are food grade mineral oils designed just for butcher blocks. **Q: is this $40 for a quart or a gallon ??????** A: Amazon site has this marked as $50 for a quart... which is nonsense price because you can pick it up for $29,99 at the local Woodcraft Supply or $31.49 from Rockler or $31.99 at Highland...etc, etc **Q: Is this only a quart or a gallon?** A: It's one quart and it is worth every penny. One quart covers 125 square feet. That's not one coat of 125 feet, that's 3 coats of 125 feet. One quart will FINISH 125 feet. **Q: Can this be used on a mahogany table that's beent reated with mineral butcher's block oil?** A: I used it on butcher block that was treated several times with mineral oil it came out perfect..they advise to sand down the wood if it's pretreated. So I'd sand it, and use the waterlox.
