The bottom is a flimsy piece of like, tent siding. So your child would be sleeping on the floor unless you padded it. But I guess the nice thing is, there’s nothing actually in the playard with them, so you CAN keep it a safe sleep environment. **Q: What are the dimensions for each side?** A: The panels are 24" wide by 28" high. **Q: Does the mesh and fabric remove easily for washing?** A: I haven't tried removing it. **Q: Is the fabric water resistant?** A: I feel it is a high quality nylon. If something spills it will not bead up but you can clean it with warm soapy water. If it is outside in the morning dew eventually it will get damp, turn it over and the sun will dry it quickly.
