I had earlier bought Apple's cover for an iPad2, and it worked very well. But there were 2 problem with the Mini's cover. I had assumed it was plastic, like the IPad2 cover, but it was leather. I didn't realize until I got home and looked at the receipt how much more expensive it was -- $69! But that wasn't the worst problem. It wouldn't fold flat behind the iPad, there was always a slight bend in the cover. So when I laid the iPad on a flat surface, it wouldn't lie flat, and would bounce up and down as I used it. I returned the cover to Apple.I found the Invellop cover on Amazon, and have been very happy with it. It does lay flat when folded behind the iPad, helped by the magnets in the cover. It also shuts off the device as it should when closed. It holds the iPad very securely and completely covers its surfaces (some of the other covers appear to leave portions exposed). The holes in the cover for plugs, switches, etc. are big enough. The materials and assembly appear good. And the price is very reasonable.While I'm giving the product 5 stars, I would only give Invellop 1 star due to some very poor customer service. I will be leaving some seller feedback about that issue. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars perfect for my needs *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2014* Not exactly what I was expecting but it's fine for what it is. The fit is perfect for my iPad mini with retina display. Has the cutout for the additional microphone in back. All openings line up perfectly. I like that it gives you coverage on all four edges and the corners. For about two months now I use it almost every day and so far it hasn't shown any signs of wear. My only concern is that it doesn't have any padding to provide shock absorption in case of a drop or fall. This is just a hard shell with a thin "leatherette" skin over it. Provides protection from scratches however which is my primary concern.
