I could easily imagine happily wearing these dressier (than Keens or Chacos) sandals, but unfortunately they are too narrow to suit my feet. The straps are too tight close to the toes, and the strap over the top of the arch is not "long" enough in the velcro. I have had problems before with Dansko clogs not being "high" enough to go over the top of my arches. I even ordered two sizes, but while the longer size accommodates the arch better, it is simply too long.Alas.... I so want them, but no amount of staring at them or longing is going to make them quite right. I need to get them boxed and returned.... I am going to try the Dansko "Sophie" to see how that might fit. I didn't want another pair of Orthaheels since I figure another pair will likely do the same (too bad because they are very comfortable.) I tried various different types of sandals and these were the only ones (besides Orthaheel) that had the right amount of arch support. I did order up a 1/2 a size due to the strap over the top being a bit tight. I am usually an 8, which would have been a 38, but I exchanged it for a 39 (8.5-9). I have a bunion and low arches and this sandal has been really great for me. I got them in black/brown and ivory. I know that you have a "break-in" period, or at least I do, after not wearing sandals all winter, but these were uncomfortable immediately. I am wearing them today and they are better, but still not great. I don't know if these will be my go-to-comfortable sandals this summer. They also seem to be a bit smaller than my other Dansko sandals. I wear a 40 in all my Danskos and these seem to be smaller all around. Best advice, find them in the store and try them on.
