Cant find the right size! i need the threaded female end to be 3/8 npt and the tube end 1/4 od. can anyone help?

This may or may not help you. But all tanks that have a small threaded outlet are 1/4" if you measure it it will actually measure close to 3/8 but they call it 1/4NPT. As far as I know they do not make a tank shutoff with 3/8NPT threads

So the outlet of this valve is a 1/4" id and 3/8" od correct? So 1/4" pex will fit in the outlet as a press fit?

No. Pex is considered as the same size as copper. 1/4 pex is equal to 5/16" OD or 1/4 CTS

wjhich way does the valve point when in the on position?

When the valve is open the blue tab is pointing to the fitting on the side, when closed it is 90 degrees to the fitting.

Will this work on a pureblueh2o tank? the tank looks similar with a 1/4" thread. that system uses a compression nut which is flimsy and leak-prone.
