    Great for complete beginners

Clear instructions and good step-by-step pictures; the author has also put up videos of some of the moves on youtube which are a great help and I looked at her videos more than the book (I like the hip key video). One thing I found was that I quickly outgrew this book; I was using it alongside beginner level lessons and many of the moves/drops/transitions taught in even the first few classes were not covered in this book.  Summary: great for complete beginners starting with no upper body training experience, but more intrepid beginners may find it too basic.

I'm using this everyday to create the body and skills i need to succeed! I'm also happy that a lot of the basic excursuses where ones i used to do in high school from learning from advanced books! You will sculpt and burn cals very quickly if you follow the instructions! Just be consistent ;-)  <3

My daughter and I have been doing silks for just a month (babies lol) and have been finding the step by step reminders in Jill's book very useful. I especially love the tips on toning and workout to hone just the right muscles and stretching guides so that when we're back in the main studio, we can fly with confidence.Highly recommended!
