He has a great deal of trouble with buttons, zippers, and putting belts through pant belt loops. These are so easy for him to put on and off as there is elastic all around the waist - no zipper, buttons/snaps, or belt loops. I wasn't sure how he would react to the change of no buttons, zippers, etc. But he loved it. I decided to order a 2nd pair. Although the 2nd pair was constructed the same way, the fabric was stained and felt stiff. I did not notice the stains until after I laundered them (thinking it might soften the fabric). At that point, I knew I wasn't allowed to return them. I contacted the company via email and told them what happened. I was pleasantly surprised that Jonathan at J & E Talit actually listened to my problem. He told me to send my mailing address and he would send me new trousers to replace the stained ones. I did send him the information he requested. Sure enough, within a day or so, Jonathan had mailed to me (at his expense) not only one but two pairs of trousers via UPS. I was very happy with both new pairs. I definitely would recommend these to anyone who wants a nice looking pair of pants and who has trouble with buttons, zippers, snaps, belt loops. These are ideal for those men in assisted living, memory care, or nursing homes. In this day and age, it is hard to find a company that will stand behind its product. He really liked these pants, but they have no side pockets and he has a lot of stuff he wants to keep with him. I know some of the other reviews said these pants have no side pockets, but I thought that problem had been corrected since the clothing description says it has them. The pants came with two back pockets only. I went to this company's website and they offer these pants at a lower price, but they charge shipping. Also, when I requested a return on these pants, I had to pay for return shipping. I am hoping they will refund me my return shipping costs as my dissatisfaction with this item has nothing to do with my choice of the item other than it is not as described on the website. If they offered these with side pockets, we would buy them. Fit was very good, and I was concerned about the 'seat room' issue because my husband seems to need a lot of seat room in his pants. But that was ok.REVIEW UPDATE-10/28/13: This company contacted me and told me that pants of this style were available with 2 side pockets and 1 back pocket and would provide an exchange if I desired, so I took them up on that option. Except for needing a little extra room in the seat (even without Depends on, it slips down in the back quite a bit when he sits or bends) these pants are perfect for him. So much easier for dressing and pottying. Fabric quality is excellent, and he really looks nice dressed in them, unlike other elastic waist pants that look sloppy and too casual. If the pockets make a difference, I suggest clarifying that before purchase.The problem with men wearing elastic waist pants is that basically men have no true 'waist' like a woman and many men have no butt. A woman's waist is above her hips, which are significantly larger and provide a place for the elastic waist to hang onto. I've bought some elastic waist pants for my husband that were too small, but still when he got his keys and pocketknife into the pockets, the weight of those items alone could cause a sag. Some mfgrs use a drawstring to help offset that, but with alzheimer's folks a drawstring can get so knotted it ends up being cut off anyway. No simple solution to this problem, but as in many things we do the best we can.
