No, there are no buttons for you to "lock" the screen or "turn up down volume" BUT, if you go to "settings" > "accessibility" turn ON ACTIVE TOUCH. you can do all of that with the small button now activated on your screen! i like this better since the reason for this case is to protect the phone when you're out and about.
