Rv260 wants me to set pptp ip range to a different subnet from vlan... can i connect and remote desktop into an existing vlan pc through this router?

The LAN IP address range used to assign IP addresses to the PPTP clients should be different from the normal DHCP range and the default VLAN of the router. Yes, you can connect to a PC behind the RV260 using remote desktop (RDP session). Just make sure you do not block the RDP TCP/UDP port (default 3389) on the RV260 router. Cisco spreadsheet on soho routers says the '160 supports command line interface (cli). does it really? is cable included?

The RV160 does not support CLI. It is managed only through the web GUI.

Does this support both dhcp and fixed up addresses at the same time?

Hello Dave, Yes, you can set a DHCP server or manually assign IP addresses to end clients in that LAN. WAN interface can also get DHCP addresses or statically assigned. Thanks, Cisco
