TOOLS Wire Stripper No. 5, automatic wire stripper 0.2-6 mm², wire stripper with side cutter up to 2 mm

I bought this to strip 14 ga wire in cable to add crimp on connectors. Works great. Strips them one two three four. As fast as that. The strip length is right every time. Is way faster and easier than a scissors type stripper. Plastic but sturdy. Works reliably. Does not fit in a tool bag very well. The lock that holds it closed does help. Worth the money.

This is a fabulous wire stripper!!! It works just a well as my $150 pro version I use at work. Of course, since the frame is plastic, it probably wont hold up as well, but I have used it dozens of times on 12 to 32 gauge wire and it works EVERY time. The only thing it does not do as well as my pro version is my pro version has a wire stop that will swing out of the way so I can, at least, start a strip an inch or so up the wire. You can do the same with these, but you have to guide the long tail of wire around the wire stop.

I do a lot of small wire work, landing wires into terminal blocks. I've gotten to be pretty fast with classic wire strippers, but now I hardly use them. If you need several dozen wires stripped an exact amount, you can't do better than this. I've had no problems with any size wire, though I don't work with 22-24 AWG. I repaired a damaged 10-wire ribbon cable right after I received this Weicon. It cut the time it took to splice out the bad section in half, and it looked a whole lot nicer. It's kinda fun to strip the ends of twenty wires in less than a minute. Click-click-click-click-done! The wire does need to be mostly straight at the end, and there's definitely a little technique to using these quickly. It's less fussing than regular strippers, but not nothing. They weigh almost nothing. Some people complain that it feels cheap. To me, they feel surprisingly light, but the action is smooth and precise. They are always in my bag of essential tools.

Great build quality, very easy and efficient to use. Can't belive I've been using one of tjose cheak plier-like wire strippers. This tool is simple and elegantly designed. It feels like a very high quality item in the hand and takes remarkably little force applied to do the job. It does have a built-in wire cutter, which isn't so easy to see from the pictures which is simple and functional. I'd give it perfect marks except it takes a little extra care to center the wire in the jaws than it should for small wires, it's like the V shape is a little too shallow, but I'm sure that's due to other design restraints. Aso the stop isn't very fine in it's adjustment and it takes added attention to get consistent strip lengths with small wires. All that said, I think it would be difficult to find a better tool for the purpose.

This thing works like a dream! It makes stripping wires very quickly and efficiently. I sat in my basement thoroughly testing this tool. For (35 mins) all sizes of wire strip perfect 99.8% of the time. Only once it didn't strip. If your on the fence about it, it's inexpensive and works extremely smooth. I like how the handle has a lock position so it stores in pouch or pocket nice and compact. The plastic is light and probably won't survive a huge fall. But all the main moving parts are made of metal so I can see it lasting a long time. It doesn't feel like dollar store cheap plastic. It's a good plastic frame. If you're a person that pulls the trigger on the drill every time you pick it up. You'll definitely be addicted to this tool...

The wire stripper must be durable, because it arrived in a non-padded plastic envelope, and the product box was smashed all to h*ll. My first thought was that the product was busted up and tiny pieces would just fall out of the package. Buy, was I wrong! I poured the wire stripper out of its smashed packaging, and it was in one piece. Not even the small wire depth adjuster was broken. Nothing was broken. This speaks to me of the quality and durability of a product that is not entirely made of metal. So, just because the outer cover is plastic (ok, it's nylon), that doesn't mean inferior. Using it was another story. At first, it just seemed awkward to hold and insert the wire into the front. After a few practice runs, however, I was pleased with the operation of the device. This precision instrument is lightweight, so it can be used for a long time without tiring from holding a heavier instrument. The handle fits the hand comfortably, and squeezes with ease. Stripping the wire is effortless. Additionally, the size is compact and can be made even more so with the handle lock: Just squeeze the handle as if stripping wire and active the lock. The instrument now becomes more compact. Nice! Although German engineered and manufactured, there are a few negatives (these do not detract from the overall operation): 1) the built-in wire cutter is just awkward -- just use a regular wire cutter; 2) the longest measured cut is only 12mm or 1/2-inch -- not a deal breaker. Just bypass the depth gauge by passing the wire around it. 3) support? unknown. Would I buy Weicon again. Most likely, but I would also consider Klein Tools (different design).

After several months of hobby use, this tool is amazing. Was skeptical at first, seemed flimsy. It WORKS.! Exactly what i needed, a great purchase. My other (older) wire cutters/strippers are now only wire cutters.

Worked great until it didn't. Has lost all cutting tension. Going into the trash I guess

YouTubeでJPさんがこれの赤いヤツを使っていたのを見て興味を持ち あと2022年度第一種電気工事士 技能試験で使いたかったので より線対策でワイヤーストリッパーKNIPEX12 62 180と本製品 WEICON No.5 試験ではNo.10が出た、 特に最初の圧着でミスのやり直しには効果があった これが無かったら間に合わなかったかも(元ゼネコン、DIY好き、手先は少し器用な方？大八) 時間内に完成出来たが端子の増し締め、確認時間無し、複線図は合っているみたい これで合格なら 85%はこれのおかげ 単線2.0も綺麗にストリップ出来るので圧着ミスアウトレットボックス内でのやり直す作業でも威力を発揮できるので第二種の技能試験でもおすすめ(1本ずつしかストリップ出来ないが) 想像して下さい技能試験という時間に追われてテンパって焦ってアウトレットボックス内に他の配線がある箇所をストリップ(ハサミ型、ガッチャン型では)し難い事を 練習でボックス内の圧着ミスした仮定でやり直す練習をお勧めします。 試験では上側の赤いゲージがあると12ミリまでしか出来ないので取り外して試験に使った(20ミリ程度まで可能) CVV−2sqより線をこれでストリップすると被覆が先に残った状態になるのでアウトレットボックス内に入れる時ゴムブッシングでバラけるのを防ぐ事が出来た。手で先に残った被覆をとる手間は必要だか飛んでいった被覆を探して捨てるより結果効率的だと思う。 2022年度後期、第二種電気工事士技能試験に望まれる方は保険として購入をおすすめします、ちょっと高いが 値段を抑えたいならマーベルMC−180他探してみては 耐久性は試験前日に届き数回練習して試験に使っただけなので？不明です KNIPEX 、WEICON No.5 共にIV5.5sq 冬で気温のせいか硬く上手くストリップ出来ず無理にやると壊れそうなので カタログ上6□までストリップ出来るがようだが、気温の高い頃試してみます 追 Amazonにレビューでその後があれば、 大体のレビューは購入直後が多く、使っていて良かった気づき、又その逆があればもっと信頼できる なので半年後、1年後、数年後レビューメール、もしくはレビュー内容変更ありますかの確認で修正出来れば いいのに

Very smooth operation for wires up to 2.5mm’ but tougher with larger ones. Good German quality. Down side is that you can’t replace the moulded blade( not screwed in either).like the knipex equivalent which is almost twice the price.

Just received the tool today and used it on site Here are my honest reviews 1.The quality of the tool is top notch 2. The tool functions as expected - it strips without tearing up the stranded or solid inner metal wire 3. The design is excellent, ergonomic and easy to use 4. Overall a value for money product as compared to other more expensive products I would heartily recommend this product
