AFFA Violetas Francesas Cologne

This cologne is light and sweet with nice violet fragrance. I use it to fill up a cosmetic/travel size type spray bottle and use it as a body spray before I finish with my Creed Love in Black eau de parfum. I just love that old fashioned violet fragrance!!! It was a blind buy based on the reviews and I’m so glad I bought it. It really makes the perfect body spray if you like a nice soft violet fragrance. The price if phenomenal too. It’s so economical. I recommend.

I don't know what it is about the scent of violets... I have never seen a real scented violet, only the unscented backyard kind and African violets, yet I have always been drawn to this scent as if it were a distant part of my past. It makes me feel nostalgic and daydreamy. I was looking on Amazon for another cologne and came upon this. The positive reviews and inexpensive price encouraged me to buy it, and I am so glad I did. I used to wear Yardley's violet perfume, but honestly I like this one even better. It has a strong smell of alcohol when you open the bottle and apply it, but the instant it's dry on the skin, it softens to a beautiful, delicate, slightly powdery, true violet scent. I like that it's not a spray, because at this price I like splashing it on liberally! Some folks say it does not last long. I think we get used to the scent when we've been wearing it for awhile, because my husband has said they can still smell it hours after I've put it on. He likes it too. I first saw this in a package with a child's picture on it and it was advertised as a baby cologne. But further searching led me to this version with a more "adult" package and label. (I was prepared to buy the baby one, though! Same company, same cologne). I just love this and hope it will always be available.

this is a lovely smelling cologne. i had a violet perfume decades ago and have been searching for something similar. i think this cologne fits the bill. it's sweet smelling, but not overpowering. there are no other elements in this cologne such as a powdery essence. it's just pure violets. the bottle amuses me as it's glass and resembles my dads old cologne bottles - but there's nothing masculine about this cologne! ;>)

MY GRANDMOTHER ALWAYS WORE A VIOLET COLOGNE THAT WAS LIGHT AND CLEAN SMELLING AND BROUGHT BACK WONDERFUL MEMORIES. THIS IS NOT IT!!!. IT IS FODDER FOR NIGHTMARES. HARSH, REEKS OF ALCOHOL AND WONT EVEN WASH OFF. NOW I FIND THAT I CANNOT EVEN RETURN IT. A WASTE OF MONEY AND A HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. IT IS GOING IN THE TRASH IMMEDIATELY

I absolutely love this frangrance - it's more of a splash, so you can put it on heavy on all the spots - inside of elbow, behind knees, etc. it does smell just like violets to me - and of course smells like baby powder and baby lotion because that's the fragrance they use too! I only wish this was available in a strong perfume so it would last.......because it just doesn't. It's a short-lived wonderful splash fragrance, light and floral and great. PS - it pours nicely in an old fashioned pump spray perfume atomizer - or in those refillable purse sticks. : - )

It smells divine. I wear it to bed. It smells like candied violets that gently lull you to sleep. Best 12 bucks I've ever spent.
