Fantastic quality, utility and value for money :0)
Absolutely fantastic - victorinox Swiss army knives are wonderful, and this model might just be my favourite for edc use: slim, lightweight, small but sturdy and has genuinely useful tools whilst not bulking up with unnecessary ones. Victorinox is so perfectly engineered - really really high quality fit and finish, these represent absolutely excellent value for money (compare them to summink like a leatherman... Bargain for what you get!). I really like the alox scales as they're tough, slim and look awesome. I'd been trying to find the perfect edc multitool with pliers so had been looking at all the usual suspects (leatherman, gerber, sog, etc etc) - all either really expensive, really heavy, or both - then it hit me - carry lightweight "real" pliers and a SAK - it's been a real revelation! I now carry a pair of 125mm Knipex mini cobra pliers, which are absolutely flipping womderful and beat the crud out of ANY multitool pliers, and a SAK: so I now have a lightweight, versatile edc that can seen me through most situations that's lighter and much cheaper than anything equivalent by leatherman or the others. I love this little victorinox tool - classic piece of kit that's stood the test of time, right!? 👌 I've got numerous different models but this one is just about perfect in terms size vs utility. Get one!!!

This may well be the ideal edc for most people.
Why choose ALOX? It is thinner (1.3mm scales), lighter and more scratch resistant than the more common cellidor (plastic) scales and it looks better. Why choose a CADET? It has pretty well everything you may need on an edc knife; it is also lightweight and pocket friendly (47grams on my scales). The main blade is the same thickness as 'normal' 91mm SAKs and is plenty big enough for most tasks. The small reduction in length obviously makes it easier on the pocket and keeps the weight low. If you are a boy-scout, then a traditional multi-tool SAK may well to suit your needs better. There are so many variants that you can get pretty well whatever mix of tools you want - except a PoziDrive screw-driver (Come on Victorinox!). The 'Huntsman' meets my needs and is often the cheapest 91mm Victorinox knife on offer. The attached pictures should tell you most of what you need to know. The ALOX ARMY 2 is also a superb knife, exactly the same 47 grams on my scales but with a bigger & thicker blade plus a superb, thin hawksbill blade. It has thicker aluminium scales to make it the right thickness to hold and is also thoroughly recommended.

Perfect little tool
I got this after getting locked in a room when the door catch failed, Luckily I had a broken old screwdriver and a wallpaper stripper handy and managed to jimmy the catch - Before I found them I thought "I wish I had a pocket knife". The alox version is much thinner than the classic plastic version - I'm not sure which I like more style wise, there is something about the charm of the classic red plastic penknife you just can't get away from. I do like the rivets showing though. However, when it comes to daily use, as I carry it around in my pocket all the time, the alox version is much more suitable. Overall its just over half the width and lighter. The only down-side is not having tweezers. So far, the finish has held up well (silver), I'm glad I didn't go for a colour version. I got this version because of the nail file and screw-drivers. I occasionally use the bottle-opener and never use the can-opener. Being more of an urban knife (as suggested by the nail file!) the can opener seems a bit of an oddity to me - it has a super useful Philips screwdriver on the end though so it gets much more use that say a pair of scissors would. I have, while having a full tool-kit next to me working on my car gotten it out to use the screwdriver just because I put the proper one down somewhere and can't find it instantly. The blade is good - came very sharp. I have used it a few times and its a good size. There is no locking mechanism (probably partly due to UK laws) which means you have to be careful not to cut yourself. Overall I am very pleased, if I lost it I would get another.

Excellent all round
This little knife is excellent. It contains all the tools you really need for the little jobs around the home or on a walk. Can opener with a small flat point screwdriver Wire stripper bottle opener and large flat point screwdriver excellent cutting blade and a small file which replaces the small cutting blade on other pocket knives. It also comes with a split ring for attaching to a keyring. You will not be disappointed with this

An object of beauty!
Wanted something with a bigger blade and tools than my tiny Victorinox Manager but not as large and weighty as my full size Victorinox Fieldmaster. This is perfect! It has all the tools I need day to day. A decent sized knife blade, can opener, bottle opener, flat and Phillips screwdrivers, and a very effective nail / general purpose file. It's the perfect size. The silver alox scales make it a true object of beauty and it's so thin and lightweight that I don't even feel it in my pocket. And of course it has that legendary Victorinox build quality which means it will last for years.
