Beautifully Broken - Three Families. Two Worlds. One Incredible True Story. - A refugee's escape, a prisoner's promise, and a daughter's painful secret converge in this inspiring true story of hope. As three fathers fight to save their families, their lives become intertwined in an unlikely journey across the globe, where they learn the healing power of forgiveness and reconciliation. Review: Encouraging and excellent movie - wish it was available on blu-ray. - Excellent movie. It is so cool to see how God works in people's lives and this movie was so true to life. Often our prayers are not answered in the way we would want them to be, but he works it all out in the end into an amazing and awesome story. The way the story played out was just so amazing because it was a true story. I have seen God move in pretty wonderful ways and to see the way he worked in this movie all wrapped around challenging and difficult circumstances (which is real life) was just an encouragement for me. Unfortunately, many Christian movies suffer from poor screenplay, poor acting and poor timing. This one didn't suffer from any of that in my opinion and I felt truly involved in the characters and the storyline. Review: Must see movie ! - Difficult challenges of 3 families are interwoven in an amazing true story. People in Rwanda and America become very close through their experiences. Some violent scenes based on true events during genocide in Rwanda depict what many actually lived through. Themes of moving past difficult events in our past, forgiveness, and finding hope in the future are stressed. Must watch entire movie to see how it all comes together. Several people found strength in believing in the faithfulness of God and trusting Him to work out the details of their lives. Definitely will watch this one again. At the end photos of the actual people involved are shown with updates of their lives.

Beautiful and moving message of Christ movie!!!!
This is a MUST SEE movie!!!! Especially for believers of Christ or 'wanna be believers' of Christ, you will want to watch it to grow in Christ. I loved this movie but have some hankies on hand, as movies of this caliber concerning God always have me tearing up to some extent. Wondering how you can work for the good of Christ in your life? or how to spread the good news (gospel) in your life??? There is a link toward the end of movie on how to sponsor a child of poverty in many parts of the world in need of help. I for one, am happy to help!!---- Lynn K in Louisville, Ky

A good movie about recovering from atrocities
This world throws life-shattering things at people. This film depicts the horrendousness of and the slow recovery from two of these: genocide and rape. Hence, this movie is not suitable viewing for younger children. This deadly-serious subject matter is handled carefully in Beautifully Broken, with no gratuitous violence and most of the ghastliness done off-camera or merely implied (as is done with the rape scene). The language is also toned down to a tolerable but believable level, and is often somewhat underspoken, gentle, and/or healing. This movie is really about healing from great harms. There is a good bit of historical accuracy in the depiction of the Rwandan genocide and, in spite of the film's obvious attempt to not dwell on the sheer inhumanity or scale of the bloodletting, this is not a film for the squeamish or fainthearted. Interweaving three distinct story lines together into one coherent story is no mean feat, so there are a few moments where this movies seems a bit disjointed. But all three strands come together very nicely at the end, and the acting is very good throughout (with the exception of Michael W. Smith's occaisional mugshot at the camera). It's a beautiful story, oftentimes hard to watch (including flashbacks), but very much worth watching and discussing afterwards. This isn't about Christianity in velvet slippers, but the real world isn't like that either, is it?

Powerful story
Life seems to get in the way of knowing what else is going on in the world, even years ago This was a very emotional story, very powerful and very sad for the truth of it and what happened in Rwanda and what is still happening in places like that. While I would not recommend it as a family movie (violent events too much for small children), I do recommend it to anyone else. My husband and I watched it yesterday and we were both very moved by it. Be gentle to others, you don't know the sorrow they carry (or words close to that). A mantra we should all have in the forefront of our minds when encountering others.

A wonderful, important film, but not for little ones
I absolutely loved this movie. First of all, it's based on a true story, complete with the pictures of the "real" people at the end. It was moving and inspiring, and as a Compassion sponsor myself, I loved seeing the families connect and help each other like they did. A wonderful story of how God can redeem any situation. I would, however, advise parents of young children to proceed with caution as there are real depictions of genocide (including children) and also rape (nothing explicit at all, but young viewers are going to ask questions)

Incredible and inspirational movie based on true story, people and events.
Excellent movie! Based on a true story which took place during the Rwandan genocide. In spite of this horrific time in history the movie spares viewers from โreal life graphic scenesโ providing tasteful, toned-down scenes that the entire family can view. A truly inspirational movie about faith, family, love and the power of forgiveness.

Great movie, made by same folks who made God Is Not Dead.
Many of the same actors in God Is Not Dead, are in this one. This film addresses a sore subject that many churches in America are trying desperately to avoid, that is, what do we do with the poor and homeless, especially those who do not look like us. Will challenge your faith, but mostly your love, for the Savior and for all of your brothers and sisters who are suffering.

An unusual 12 out of 10 stars film!
This film was done most excellently, would recommend to any Christian who loves the Lord and testimonies. not a good idea for anyone under twelve, probably better 14 plus.

All the poignant because it is a true story.
A very moving story of three families who become intricately linked. Acting is mostly good, but still a movie that will hold your attention.
