Seizures during the daytime will often result in a fall. A ‘fall alarm’ can be a great way of getting help when you need it. The fall sensor automatically makes a call to SureSafe’s 24/7 response centre without the wearer needing to push the button. The response centre will then deal with the call by either contacting nominated contacts or calling the emergency services. The alarm works by the user wearing a small fall sensor that can be worn in three ways: 1.around the neck as a pendant 2.on a belt-clip 3.clipped onto clothing like a broach The fall sensor uses smart technology to detect the wearer falling and then activating the alarm without any button needing to be pressed. The sensor uses a barometer to detect a change in air pressure and an accelerometer to detect sudden movements, or drops, that would indicate a fall. When activated the fall sensor sends a wireless signal to the alarm base unit which in turn dials the 24/7 response centre for help. The sensor has a range of 50m from the alarm base station, as well as having an emergency button on it that the wearer can press if they want to raise the alarm manually. The sensor is water proof and is suitable for the use in the shower. False alarms are not an issue as a 5 second warning signal is given before the alarm call is made. This allows the wearer to cancel any false alarms before the alarm is raised. Each alarm comes with a free installation and demonstration service. The engineer will also fine tune the fall pendant settings to your height and preferred sensor wearing position so that the fall sensor is as accurate as possible. Purchasing this product includes the agreement to purchase SureSafe 24/7 Connect monitoring service at £9.99 per month (ex. VAT) paid via Direct Debit.
