Very useful
Good book! Very informative and laid out well so far. I am only about 1/4 into it. If you are using this book on your own, outside of a formal class, contact the publisher for an answer key to the review questions.

I was expecting a lot more, but should have known better, no book can cover so many areas and do it well. It did do pretty good introduction to maintenance until section 3 where it starts on electrical. The electrical sections were poor, one example is megger testing, it doesn't mention what range to use and why, or which wires to test. The section on VFDs is very poor, which is a section I expected to be in great detail. Not much detail is given on computerized recording and tracking maintenance, which is much more common now than when this book was written. I may have missed it, but can't remember reading any details on thermal imaging, non contact voltage detectors, condition based maintenance. It also does not mention LED lighting, which is one area that many companies are looking to integrate as it will save a lot of money after the initial investment in bulbs is undertaken.
