I use an H hook with it to make scriubbers for my Kitchen! **Q: How many yards is this?** A: 76 yards **Q: Can I use any dishcloth pattern to knit a scrubbie ? What size knitting needle ?** A: It is often easier to start using the scrubby yarns with slightly larger needles than you would actually use for a smooth yarn of the same weight, but not for the reasons some think of first, like gauge, or resistance of knitting due to the texture. If you use a slightly larger needle, not an 8 or 9, but a 10, 10.5 or even a 10.75 (7mm), then you get a more open fabric that will dry out between uses. Drying out between uses keeps it in good shape longer. Stitch patterns don't need to be elaborate either. Use seed stitch, double moss, blocks, or similar knit/purl patterns to get the best surface and best yield of the yarn. Most of my customers like to make them palm size to match their sponges; some have even made them into sponge pockets to cover the sponges they use. Using a firm cast-on, selvedge, and bind off will give you a better precision scrubbing edge as well. If you crochet, consider using some front post-stitch crochet for added texture. Hope this helps! They are very absorbent (after 1st machine washing) and just rough enough to loosen a bit of dried food stuck on the counter. Hint from a blog: Crochet the foundation row with a hook one size larger than the one you plan to use for the rest of the dish cloth and you will have nice square corners. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Even scrubs out stubborn tea stains from cups *by L***N on August 19, 2019* Not easy to knit or crochet with, but once finished, your dish rag will last you a long time. Dries quickly, doesn't seem to sour, and scrubs very well. Comes out great from the washing machine. I had long worried about all the sponges I'd used and then discarded. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the yarn itself is kind of hard to work with.
