I have extremely heavy periods to the point that I have to wear those pretty ugly period panties. Said all that to say I got this THEE DAY my cycle started. Day 1 per usual flow but my day 2 which is my most heaviest day wasn't so heavy. It changed my ENTIRE FLOW. Was it still heavy yes but not to the point that I needed period panties and changing it every 4 hours (yes that is how heavy it is) but rather a really good overnight pad was used throughout the day. Day 3 normally was heavy was again not as bad and the cramps which are usually unbearable were actually bearable. Day 4 was smooth sailing. I normally have a 7 day cycle. With taking this out cut down to 5 days. Shooketh I was. I also noticed the extra energy that came along with taking it. I am normally depleted of ALL energy during this time of month and I will say it was significant difference. Like I was able to clean the whole house different. Where as I am normally in the fetal position on the couch with a heating pad and a towel up under me. Now for the taste.... its horrible and ain't no way around that. It's nasty but bearable with an IMMEDIATE chaser. You may also notice that for the first few days your burps will also taste like it BUT keep going. I promise it's worth it! I am not going to lie and say this was the only thing I took BUT with the lab results showing my vitamin D was low as well I added it to the mix. **Q: Where it is made ? does not say, it does say distribute in the USA**
A: Geritol was introduced as an alcohol-based, iron and B vitamin tonic by Pharmaceuticals, Inc., in August 1950 and primarily marketed as such into the 1970s. Geritol was folded into Pharmaceuticals' 1957 acquisition of J. B. Williams Co., founded in 1885.3 J. B. Williams Co. was later bought out by Nabisco in 1971. In 1982, the Geritol product name was acquired by the multinational pharmaceutical firm Beecham (later GlaxoSmithKline).4 Geritol was acquired by Meda Pharmaceutical in 2011.5 Meda was acquired by Mylan in 2016.6

The earlier Geritol liquid formulation was advertised as "twice the iron in a pound of calf's liver," and daily doses contained about 50–100 milligrams of iron as ferric ammonium citrate. The Geritol tonic also contained about 12% alcohol and some B vitamins.

**Q: Is this different than the Geritol Tonic or is it just different packaging.  Which one is better.  I need energy.**
A: It is the same as geritol tonic.  The large packaging makes it easier to use up, as I can only find the small bottles in the stores.  Good deal on the price of combo purchase of 3 bottles.  It does give you energy.  I take in morning in couple ounces of orange juice.  Work well for me.  It does take about 3 days (72 hrs to really get into your system and I use daily.  If energy level is up, you can take every other day or so.

**Q: Are there 3 12oz bottles (3 pack) for the price of  $20.01 ?**
A: Yes. Double check the description though because there are multiple ways to order this product. Typically its $8-9 or more per bottle IF you can find it at a store. Getting 3 - 12oz bottles for $20.01 is roughly $6.67 per bottle. this doesn't include sales tax and shipping. Read carefully the ordering information. For me this is a good deal. **Q: Why is there sodium hydroxide in geritol**
A: Sodium Hydroxide is a VERY COMMON natural compound (found all over the Desert Southwest as 'alkali')...and is used in Geritol (in TINY AMOUNTS) to level the pH of what would otherwise be VERY acidic, combined with the fact that elemental iron is one of the HARDEST substances for the human body to absorb and process (fast enough, anyhow, that you can use it before your body excretes it in a waste-stream).
The Sodium Hydroxide is used to assist your body in breaking down the citrus (acid) ferrite (iron) by raising the pH to match your body's pH level...it also prevents MASSIVE stomach upset as a result.
(alternatively, if you want to 'experiment' with elemental iron without a corrective pH factor, try the centuries-old method of putting a pure-iron nail into an apple for 3-5 days, then removing the nail and disposing of it, and then eating the apple...it causes MAJOR stomach upset, because the apple acid did break-down the iron in the nail and made it digestable, but without a pH correction, caused MASSIVE stomach distress...and the iron passed from your system without absorption, as a result.
Don't freak out of 'chemical names'...most chemicals are as natural as the foods you eat (an example is a deadly chemical called 'DyHydrogen Oxide'....kills people all the time. If you're scared, you might want to consider that Dyhydrogen Oxide is H20...WATER...and between drowning, water toxification, etc., it DOES kill a lot of people each year...)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Stuff!

I originally purchased this item a couple of months ago to help with hair growth and retention. Thinking I'm slightly deficient in iron (like many women of color) and it's time to start supplementing. After I recieved it I took it here and there, struggling to find a rythym. About a month ago, I started taking a small amount of tumeric and olive oil mixture (with a sprinkle of black pepper) to help combat mysterious inflammation that was suddenly showing up on my face. The mixture worked like magic to get rid of the inflammatory marks on my face, it took two days. Like most people would do, I kept taking it. After the first week I noticed I was waking up exhausted and felt less alert throughout the day (the exact opposite of the initial effects of the mixture). By day 12, the symptoms were twice as bad and I also found myself getting a little confused, dizzy, and lightheaded. The only thing I'd changed was adding the tumeric and olive oil (just about a tablespoons worth) before bed. I did some research and found that curcumin (the active form of Tumeric) binds to iron! And olive oil also has a slight chelating effect. And all of the symptoms I was experiencing was due to my suspected low (or borderline) iron being bound to curcumin and not being available for absorption in my gut. After learning this, I immediately went home and took a dose of my geritol. The lightheaded feeling and dizziness went away the same day! And on day two, I was feeling well rested, energized and clear of mind. I also stopped taking the tumeric and olive oil mixture. It worked beautifully but I want to have some labs drawn before adding it back into my routine again. Until lab work gets closer in date ,Geritol is now a staple in my diet.
