dose it work with magsafe

I bought 3 of these connectors to extend my multiple MagSafes, but one of them stopped working a day ago. It lasted about 1.5 years. But to answer your question, yes it works with MagSafe.

Does this support hdmi within the connected hub?

I'm using this extension cable with a USB/ethernet/HDMI hub. The HDMI monitor is at 3840x2160 (4K) resolution and has no issues. Make sure your HDMI cable and hub support 4K resolution. Also as others have noted, the cable can be oriented 4 ways (male up/down female up/down) and only one way supports power and data. Try inserting the male side with the label up first, then try both ways for the female side. Next try the male side label down and and try both ways for the female side until it works.

I have a macbook pro connected to a thunderbolt 3 doc. and it doesn’t work. seems odd. suggestions?
