This is the exact same soil mixture featured in all of our videos on our YouTube channel, "We Are The Bonsai Supply." Our Bonsai Soil is specifically formulated for all container-grown plants, ensuring optimal drainage, pH balance, water retention, nutrient uptake, and aeration for the roots. One of the key ingredients to a good soil mix for your bonsai is drainage, especially during rainy seasons. This professional soil mix allows you to water your tree daily without the worry of overwatering. What is in the soil? Pumice Pumice contains over 70 different trace minerals that are vital for developing a healthy and strong root system. Some of these minerals include Zeolite, Fulvic Acid, Iron, Sodium, Humic Acid, Calcium, Nitrogen, Potassium, and many more! Black Lava Rock Lava rock is most commonly known for its exceptional draining characteristics, making it one of the cornerstones for nearly every bonsai mix. Calcined Clay Calcined Clay is a baked clay that does a great job of holding water, ensuring your Bonsai won't dry out throughout the day. It also acts as an acidifier. Pine Bark Fines Pine bark does a great job of absorbing nutrients and then slowly releasing them back to the tree as needed. Why we don't use regular potting soil Potting Soil is not the best choice when it comes to bonsai. Holds too much water for a long period of time (trees like to dry out a bit in between watering.) Does not allow for even water distribution. Turns into a brick that prevents oxygen to the roots, and water drainage. Attracts weeds, and insects Does not allow fertilizer uptake by the roots.
